The fresh craftsman style kitchen designed and expertly crafted by Benjamin Blackwelder was a must see for this years Utah Valley Parade of Homes. Located in award winning House #7 in Linden, Utah, the kitchen won the hearts of thousands who admired its beauty and craftsmanship. With it’s classic craftsman charm and fresh modern appeal the skillful design also won “Best Interior Finish” from the Builder’s Association.
Taking full advantage of the 10’ ceilings Ben Blackwelder designed the kitchen for optimum storage capacity and strategically placed the state-of-the-art appliances throughout the space. The result was a highly functional and beautiful kitchen with a clean symmetrical layout. To the many who admired the smooth painted maple doors they were even more impressed with the interior of the cabinetry. People were particularly excited about some of the kitchen’s unique features including, a tall dish pantry with pull out silverware carriers located perfectly between the disguised dishwasher and dining area. The beautiful pullouts with dovetail drawers dressed with a 5/8” walnut topped solid maple, and counter height appliance garages were equally impressive.
Color also played an important role in this design. Splashes of blue in the glass backsplash and sandblasted cobalt blue glass cabinet doors above the cooking area add family friendly fun to the space. A large white island with a light granite countertop stands in sleek contrast against the dark engineered walnut floor. Accent, task and recessed lighting also play a tremendous role in illuminating the fresh color palette and exquisitely crafted cabinetry.
To many of the 9,000 people who toured this year’s Parade of Homes, Benjamin Blackwelder’s kitchen design was the finest craftsmanship they had ever seen. They even brought back friends and family multiple times so they too could admire its exquisite craftsmanship and design. It was a great success this year.
